Job summary

Omni Nashville Hotel is seeking a Barbacks/ Food Runner/ Dining Room Attendant for Barlines. The role focuses on delivering prompt, professional service, maintaining clean work areas, stocking stations, and assisting bartenders and servers as needed.

Strong English communication and a welcoming demeanor are essential. Requires at least 1 year experience in food running or related hotel/F&B roles, ability to work weekends/holidays, and TABC certification or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

  • Clear and pleasant English communication with guests/colleagues.
  • Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with a calm, welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to work cohesively with coworkers inside and outside the department.
  • Must be TABC certified or able to obtain a valid permit.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in bar setup and opening, as well as closing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Stock bar stations to par and maintain liquor inventory levels.
  • Maintain clean glassware as needed.
  • Greet guests promptly and courteously; assist bartenders and servers as needed.
  • Deliver food to correct tables according to ticket and floor plan.
  • Ensure service times and menu knowledge are up to date.
  • Move and deliver items safely in a fast-paced setting.

JOB DESCRIPTION

No Job Description for a position can possibly include all duties which may be requested by guest or required by the hotel. The objective of all positions is to effectively provide the services personally, or to immediately refer requests to the appropriate department manager. The following is a summary of the major responsibilities of the position.

DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage | Barlines
JOB TITLE: Barlines Barback/Food Runner/DRA

REPORTS TO: Barlines Assistant Manager, Barlines Manager

JOB PURPOSE: To maintain the highest standards possible for the guest by insuring quick, efficient, and professional Barback, Food Runner, and Dining Room Attendant services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist in bar setup and opening, as well as closing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Stocking the bar stations to par, and maintaining a par level of liquor bottles.
  • Maintain clean glassware as needed.
  • Become completely familiar with the liquors and beers sold in the bar.
  • Greet all guests promptly and courteously.
  • Ability to assist and focus attention on bartenders and servers needs, remaining calm and courteous.
  • Must have complete knowledge of service times and menu.
  • Must have complete knowledge of floor plan, table numbers, and seat numbers.
  • Deliver food to correct tables according to ticket, floor plan, and seat numbers.
  • Always inquire if additional service is needed from guests upon delivery and inform server or manager.
  • Clear and disinfect tables before, during, and after service.
  • Think clearly, quickly, maintain concentration, and make concise decisions.
  • Ability to perform the job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently and effective.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 1 year food runner experience/DRA experience preferred. Other relevant hotel / food & beverage experience will be considered.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers, with the ability to answer guest questions and describe menu items.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be TABC certified, or have the ability to obtain a valid TABC permit.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:
  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in an indoor/outdoor environments.
  • Required repetitive motion of arms, hands, and legs.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
  • Serving trays, tray jacks, flatware, glassware, Micros terminals
