Job summary

The Monarch San Antonio, Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 200-room boutique hotel in Hemisfair District seeking a Barback to support bartenders and uphold service standards. You will stock, restock, and maintain clean bar areas while helping ensure smooth service.

We value teamwork, reliability, and a professional appearance. TABC certification is required; prior bar/restaurant experience is preferred; flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous bar or restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stock the bar with liquor, glassware, ice, and necessary supplies before and during service.
• Replenish garnishes, mixers, and ingredients to keep service running smoothly.
• Assist bartenders with service needs to maintain efficiency during peak periods.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar areas, equipment, and service stations.
• Remove empty glassware and clear surfaces promptly.
• Ensure all bar areas remain organized and presentation-ready.
• Assist with bar setup prior to service and breakdown at the end of shifts.
• Restock and prepare the bar for the next service period.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards.
• Maintain compliance with TABC and hotel policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support bar and hotel operations
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance as an essential function of the role

Position Overview

The Barback supports bartenders by maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar while helping ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role plays an important part in delivering a seamless and elevated guest experience by anticipating needs and supporting the bar team throughout service.

What You’ll Do

Bar Support & Operations

• Stock the bar with liquor, glassware, ice, and necessary supplies before and during service
• Replenish garnishes, mixers, and ingredients to keep service running smoothly
• Assist bartenders with service needs to maintain efficiency during peak periods

Cleanliness & Organization

• Maintain cleanliness of bar areas, equipment, and service stations

Opening & Closing Duties
