Job summary

Maxime’s is a private member’s club on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, seeking a Barback to support the world-class hospitality brigade. You will assist bartenders, stock the bar, and maintain cleanliness to uphold the club’s elevated standards.

Ideal candidates have experience in fine dining or luxury hotel settings, with knowledge of bar service and culinary concepts. TIPS certification and the ability to work a flexible schedule are required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Barback in fine dining, Michelin-starred, or luxury hotel settings.
• Knowledge of bar service and culinary concepts.
• TIPS certification required.
• Comfort working nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to prep bar, stock, and rotate supplies and maintain bar cleanliness.

Maxime’s is a private member’s club by entrepreneur Robin Birley, located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, New York City.
We are seeking a Barback to join our world- class hospitality brigade. The Barback support the Bartenders with all preparation aspects, restocking, and maintaining cleanliness. They also work closely with all front- and back-of-house team members to uphold the standards of the bar program and create a welcoming atmosphere, elevating Maxime’s brand and service standards at all times.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven success as a Barback/Beverage Support within fine dining, Michelin-star establishments, or luxury hotel settings.
• Knowledge of bar service as well as culinary concepts and terminology.
• Capable of preparing bar for service by filling wells with ice; preparing fruit trays; restocking the bar with beer, liquor, wine, glassware, and juices; and stocking trash cans and towels; properly rotates products and ensures perishable items are labeled; regularly checks the draught beers to make sure kegs are functional; changes kegs as needed in accordance with safety standards.
• Adheres to all Department of Health and Safety standards related to food and beverage handling, hygiene, and alcohol service.
• Thrives in high- end environments, consistently upholding superior service standards and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
• Capable of operating autonomously with minimal oversight.
• Maintains a professional, upbeat demeanor and embraces a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• TIPS certification required.
• Ability to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business.
