Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Catering Bar Server to provide professional beverage service at university events, alumni gatherings, student functions, and campus banquets. You will mix and pour drinks, maintain a clean bar area, and ensure compliance with liquor laws and university policies.

You will set up bars, handle POS if required, monitor guest ages, and greet attendees in a courteous manner while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Reading and writing proficiency to follow instructions and policies.
• Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure.
• Previous bartending or high-volume serving experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Set up portable bars, ice bins, glassware, garnishes, and beverage inventory prior to events; clean and pack up all equipment post-event.
• Pour beer and wine and prepare non-alcoholic options accurately and efficiently.
• Check valid government-issued identification for all guests to verify legal drinking age; monitor consumption levels to prevent over-intoxication in compliance with state regulations (such as TABC).
• Greet faculty, students, staff, and VIP guests in a polite, enthusiastic, and professional manner.
• Handle point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash drawers, or drink tickets if required by the specific campus event.
• Keep the bar workspace clean, tidy, and sanitized throughout the shift, adhering to health and safety codes.

• Must meet the minimum legal age requirement in your state to serve alcohol
• Previous bartending or high-volume serving experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for long shifts, and lift or move heavy items (up to 30?40 lbs of ice, kegs, or glassware cases).
