Job summary

Pouring With Heart is seeking a Bar Leadership Team member at Half Step in Austin to grow into a General Manager role. You will work with the GM to identify growth areas, develop leadership skills, and manage bar operations with a focus on hospitality and financial stewardship.

The role combines hands-on leadership with development opportunities, mentorship, and a path to higher responsibility within a vibrant, community-oriented bar group in Austin.

Qualifications

• Prior bar or managerial experience in hospitality.
• 3+ years of bartending in a high-volume or cocktail-focused environment.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting with calm, positive demeanor.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, and cocktails; eager to expand.
• Balance creativity with financial awareness (menu costing, waste, ROI).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with staff and guests.
• Team-oriented leader able to delegate, coach, and support peers.
• Must be 21+ and hold valid Responsible Beverage Service certifications (state varies).

Responsibilities

• Partner with GM to identify leadership goals and growth areas.
• Collaborate on cocktail menus for creativity, guest appeal, and cost-efficiency.
• Assist in planning events, activations, and community engagements aligned with the brand.
• Work with vendors and marketing to drive exposure and revenue growth.
• Close the bar and manage cash drops and tip-outs.
• Track guest feedback, event ROI, and revenue trends for decisions.
• Assist with budgets, inventory, and ordering to meet financial goals.
• Develop systems to improve service, prep, and operations.
• Lead by example, mentor peers, and foster hospitality and accountability.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and leadership development.
• Represent Pouring With Heart values in every interaction.
