Pouring With Heart is seeking a Bar Leadership Team member at Half Step in Austin to grow into a General Manager role. You will work with the GM to identify growth areas, develop leadership skills, and manage bar operations with a focus on hospitality and financial stewardship.

The role combines hands-on leadership with development opportunities, mentorship, and a path to higher responsibility within a vibrant, community-oriented bar group in Austin.

Formación

• Prior bar or managerial experience in hospitality.
• 3+ years of bartending in a high-volume or cocktail-focused environment.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting with calm, positive demeanor.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, and cocktails; eager to expand.
• Balance creativity with financial awareness (menu costing, waste, ROI).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with staff and guests.
• Team-oriented leader able to delegate, coach, and support peers.
• Must be 21+ and hold valid Responsible Beverage Service certifications (state varies).

Responsabilidades

• Assist with budgets, inventory, and ordering to meet financial goals.
• Develop systems to improve service, prep, and operations.
• Lead by example, mentor peers, and foster hospitality and accountability.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and leadership development.

Pouring with Heart is currently looking for a new member of the Bar Leadership Team at Half Step in Austin. We are excited to find a new family member. Below is a description of the role, give it a read-through, and if you think “Hell yeah!”, we’d love to start a conversation.

The Role…

As a [member] in the Bar Leadership Team, you will work directly with your GM to identify areas for growth, develop new skills, and build your foundation for leadership. This role is designed as both a learning path to become a General Manager and an active management position within the bar. The GM has the autonomy to assign this position tasks, projects, and priorities that reflect both the needs of the bar and your development.

Main Duties, but are not limited to…

• Partner with your GM to identify leadership goals and areas for growth
• Collaborate on cocktail menus, ensuring creativity, guest appeal, and cost-efficiency
• Support planning and execution of events, activations, and community engagements aligned with the bar’s brand
• Partner with vendors and marketing teams to drive exposure, awareness, and revenue growth
• Close the bar and handle cash nightly from drops and tip outs
• Track guest feedback, event ROI, and revenue trends to inform decision-making
• Assist with weekly budgets, inventory, and ordering to support financial goals
• Develop systems that improve consistency in service, prep, and operations
• Support the Bar Leadership Team by leading by example, mentoring peers, and fostering a culture of hospitality and accountability
• Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and leadership development workshops
• Represent Pouring With Heart’s values of community, camaraderie, and connection in every interaction

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Prior bar or managerial experience in hospitality
• 3+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume or cocktail focused environment
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while keeping a calm, positive demeanor
• Strong product knowledge in spirits, beer, and cocktails with curiosity to expand expertise
• Ability to balance creativity with financial awareness (menu costing, waste reduction, ROI tracking)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with both staff and guests
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor
• Team-oriented leader with the ability to delegate, coach, and support peers
• Must be 21+ and hold valid certifications for responsible beverage service (varies by state)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Fast-paced movements and mobility required to cover bar and floor space efficiently
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as part of daily bar operations
