Job summary

The Weill Center for the Performing Arts in Sheboygan, WI, is seeking a Bar Lead to manage concessions before and during events. You will ensure clean, organized service areas and handle beverage service in a fast-paced environment, supporting volunteers and staff.

This part-time role requires 18+ hourly, a Beverage Operator’s License, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with night and weekend availability; you will work closely with operations and event teams to deliver friendly, efficient

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess or willing and able to obtain Beverage Operator’s License.
  • Serving or bartending experience encouraged.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability for nights, weekends, and non-standard shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and reset concessions areas before, during, and after events, including icing products, preparing garnishes, displaying signage, addressing spills, and keeping service areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
  • Prepare and mix drinks quickly, accurately, and consistently in a fast-paced service.
  • Follow responsible beverage service practices, including verifying IDs when appropriate and ensuring compliance with applicable alcohol service guidelines.
  • Use and maintain the POS system, including managing patron orders, running equipment updates, troubleshooting technology issues, and properly opening and closing the cash till.
  • Follow cash-handling and reconciliation procedures and report discrepancies when they occur.
  • Monitor product levels, assist with inventory counts, restock supplies, and communicate urgent inventory needs to leadership during events.
  • Direct and support concessions volunteers by communicating assigned roles, service expectations, and event-specific procedures before doors open.
  • Handle patron service questions, concerns, or complaints professionally and elevate issues as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

About the Weill Center

The Weill Center for the Performing Arts is a 1,150-seat live event venue in Downtown Sheboygan, WI. The Weill Center presents a series of live performances including music, comedy, variety acts, movies, and more. In 2001, the theater was restored to its original Spanish Colonial Revival architectural style and atmospheric theater, as built in 1928. The theater is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Preserve this historic landmark theater in order to provide and sustain a majestic performing arts venue for the community and to serve the people of Sheboygan County and surrounding communities with the opportunity to enjoy cultural, educational, civic, and corporate events that will entertain and inspire.

Overview

The Bar Lead ensures the Weill Center concessions areas are pristine before each event and operate efficiently throughout events. This role requires a strong sense of organization, attention to detail, and confidence managing money and volunteers. The Bar Lead should be comfortable working in a fast-paced service environment, as they may be responsible for serving hundreds of beverages within a short period of time.

  • Serving or bartending experience encouraged
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and non-standard shifts (Friday and Saturday availability required)
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Represent the Weill Center professionally at all times and fully comply with the established staff dress code.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly compensation of $18, based on experience (tips not included)
  • Complimentary tickets to select shows for family and friends
