Bartender – Part Time – Marcus Performing Arts Center

Oak View Group is a global leader in venue development, management, and premium hospitality services for the live event industry, serving world‑class venues including the Marcus Performing Arts Center in Milwaukee.

Position Summary: The bartender will serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, maintain a professional and personable demeanor, and provide excellent service in a fast‑paced environment. Attendance and reliability are essential, as the bartender will work scheduled events as required.

Hourly pay $14.00–$16.00, tip eligible. Benefits for Part‑Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and matching.

About The Venue: The Marcus Performing Arts Center has been a Milwaukee fixture for over 50 years, hosting resident companies such as Black Arts MKE, First Stage, The Florentine Opera, and Milwaukee Ballet, and is part of a dedicated War Memorial facility.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent guest service, communicate with co‑workers, and adhere to uniform standards.
• Follow bar pre‑shift notes and menus.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all applicable regulations and company standards.
• Know the beer, wine, and spirit selection and suggestively upsell.
• Pour drinks responsibly according to standard sizes.
• Verify guests’ IDs to ensure minimum age requirements.
• Set a clear cut‑off for purchase when necessary.
• Listen to and respond to customer requests or concerns.
• De‑escalate intoxicated guests and involve management or security if needed.
• Escalate decisions beyond scope to a manager.
• Request restock or additional product as needed.
• Handle cash accurately and manage the bar’s issued bank.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary station and equipment.
• Assist with set‑up, breakdown, and cooler organization.
