Job summary

The George Washington University Law School seeks an Assistant Program Director, Bar Support to advance bar exam and MPRE readiness for students and alumni. The role includes developing programs, counseling students, and collaborating with law school offices and external bar administrators.

Responsibilities cover program design, newsletters, student mentoring, data analysis, and teaching a bar success course. Hybrid work and on-site duties are involved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree.
  • JD or Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g. MBA, MS in Counseling).
  • Successful bar passage in a U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience in academic support or bar preparation is strongly desired.
  • Experience with assessment and data collection.

Responsibilities

  • Research bar exam procedures across multiple jurisdictions and disseminate information.
  • Create in-person, hybrid, and recorded bar prep programs.
  • Craft newsletters and instructional materials on bar exam requirements and MPRE.
  • Counsel students on strategies to apply for and take the bar and MPRE.
  • Provide writing, organizational, and analytical support to students and recent grads.
  • Analyze data on bar passage rates and program impact; generate insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with GW Law offices, student groups, bar administrators, and external partners.
  • Oversee student workers or fellows as needed.
  • Teach a credit-bearing bar success course each semester.
  • Offer resources on the NextGen Bar Exam and teach a skills course to upper-level students.
