Job summary

Loews New Orleans Hotel in the Warehouse District is seeking a bartender who crafts signature cocktails and serves beverages with precision and flair. You’ll engage guests, work with a dynamic team, and deliver memorable experiences that keep guests coming back.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food and beverage setting is required, with bartending experience highly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, preparation techniques, appropriate glassware, and bar equipment, including knowledge of legal regulations for alcohol service.
  • Strong guest service skills with a focus on creating memorable experiences.
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems for order processing and inventory tracking.
  • Physical ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks, following recipes and guest preferences.
  • Create and recommend unique cocktails tailored to individual guest tastes.
  • Ensure every drink meets the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Greet and engage guests with a warm, welcoming attitude, delivering personalized service.
  • Take drink orders from guests and servers, answering questions about menu options.
  • Handle guest complaints or special requests professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Set up the bar at the start of each shift, ensuring all equipment, garnishes, and supplies are ready for service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, surfaces, and waste disposal.
  • Monitor and report inventory levels for beverages, garnishes, and supplies to prevent shortages.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations, including verifying guest identification.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and enforce responsible service practices.
  • Adhere to all state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Assist with restocking supplies and support barback duties during busy periods.
  • Foster a positive team environment while delivering exceptional service.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
