Job summary

Compass Group USA, Levy at Churchill Downs, is hiring a Bar Back to support the bustling fall racing season at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. The role involves stocking, preparing beverages, and assisting bartenders during high-volume shifts.

You’ll work during the Fall Racing Meet from Oct 25 to Nov 29, with opportunities to return for spring racing; benefits include Instapay, associate savings, and other programs; entry at Service Gate 17 near parking.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves all needed food items from kitchen and delivers to bar area.
• Retrieves all needed beverage items and garnishes from storerooms and delivers to bar area.
• Sets up bottles on bar with 'top shelf' liquor on back shelf.
• Places appropriate bar snacks on counter; keeps supplies stocked throughout shift.
• Assists in opening and closing side work as assigned.
• Buses tables in bar area.
• Helps ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the bar or lounge areas; washes work tables, walls, refrigerators and floors under equipment; sweeps and mops service areas, including floor mats.
• Ensures rubbish is removed from all receptacles.
• Prepares and serves beverages as needed to assist bartender.

Levy at Churchill Downs has opportunity for seasonal, part-time employees to join our team for our Fall Racing Meet. Team members that successfully complete the Fall Racing Meet will be invited to return for our Spring Racing Meet in April, which includes the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby.

Every year, on the first Saturday in May, over 150,000 of guests gather under the Twin Spires at Churchill Downs to create lifelong memories with their friends and family.

• Our Fall Racing Meet lasts from October 25th - November 29th and includes Thanksgiving and Black Friday
• Our Spring Racing Meet lasts from April 24th– June 27th and will include the Kentucky Oaks, the Kentucky Derby, and Downs After Dark

Summary: Receives all liquor, beer and wine from storeroom on a daily basis and as needed. Replenishes all liquor, beer and wine as needed in the bar throughout the shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
