STARTING WAGE: $8.50 PER HOUR
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bartender Capacity
- Accurately and promptly takes orders from and serves wine, draft or bottled beer, and mixed drinks to customers or servers.
- Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare beverages and other drinks.
- Collects money for drinks served, follows point-of-sale procedures accurately, and provides receipts to patrons.
- Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies, maintains outlet liquor inventory.
- Arranges bottles and glasses attractively and prepares garnishes for drinks.
- Balances an individual cash drawer accurately.
- Sets up and breaks down for special event bars.
- Must have the ability to pour a high volume of drinks.
- Assists Barback or Beverage Server functions when necessary.
Barback Capacity:
- Stocks refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer.
- Washes glasses and equipment, polishes fixtures, and mops floors.
- Removes empty bottles, trash, and returns dirty ashtrays.
- Makes and prepares flavors for mixed drinks.
- Develops knowledge of beverage service.
- Assists with Bartender or Beverage Server functions when needed.
Beverage Server Capacity:
- Collects drink orders, presents to Bartender, garnishes, and serves to patrons.
- Calculates bills and accepts payments.
- Assists Bartender or Barback when necessary.
Additional for all Capacities
- Requests identification from customers when age is questioned.
- Familiar with policies, procedures, rules, and laws relevant to Indiana, Tropicana Evansville, and the Beverage Department.
- Must be able to stand and walk for over 7 hours.
- Capable of using stairwells or service elevators.
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, bending, twisting, and climbing stairs.
- May assist with food prep, handling, stocking, and cashier duties in the casino restaurant.
- Must understand and communicate in English.
- Capable of working in environments with secondhand smoke and loud noises.
- Flexible to work various hours, including holidays and weekends.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; 1-3 months of related experience/training. Must present a courteous, professional image when interacting with the public.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Must possess and maintain an Indiana Liquor License and obtain/maintain an Indiana Gaming license.
