Job summary

The Higgins Hotel in New Orleans, part of Davidson Hospitality Group, is seeking a Steward Supervisor to lead the stewarding team, manage inventory, and ensure cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen area. This role emphasizes strong leadership and adherence to sanitation standards within a luxury hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Steward Supervisor or similar supervisory role.
• Bilingual Spanish and English required.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and set up and run breakdown stations.
• Maintain control of china, glassware, and silver between all food and beverage departments; sort, clean and return to storage.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen and dish room.
• Assist in training new stewarding staff.
• Supervise and/or conduct inventory of glassware and supplies.
• Perform in capacity of any position supervised.
• Demonstrate positive leadership to inspire employees to meet standards.
• Attend all mandatory meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
