Job summary

The Higgins Hotel in New Orleans is seeking a dedicated Steward Supervisor to lead our stewarding team and maintain a spotless kitchen.

You will supervise staff, manage inventory, train new teammates, and ensure sanitation and safety standards while upholding exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Steward Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English mandatory.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and set up and run breakdown stations.
• Maintain control of china, glassware, and silver between departments; sort, clean, and return.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen and dish room.
• Assist in training new stewarding staff.
• Supervise and/or inventory glassware and supplies.
• Perform in capacity of any position supervised.
• Demonstrate positive leadership to motivate staff.
• Attend all mandatory meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

• Maintain sanitary kitchen and dish room
• Assist in training new stewarding staff
• Supervise and/or conduct inventory of glassware and supplies
• Perform in capacity of any position supervised
• Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees to meet and exceed standards
• Attend all mandatory meetings
• Other duties as assigned by manager
