Churchill Downs Incorporated’s Turfway Park Racing & Gaming in Northern Kentucky is seeking a Lead Cook - Banquets to support banquet events, prep items, and supervise kitchen staff. You will coordinate with the Banquet Chef and ensure high food quality and safety standards in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining guest satisfaction during events at Turfway Park.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary school degree or two-year technical degree preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in a professional kitchen.
• Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency.
• Assists the Banquet Chef in planning and executing banquet events.
• Provides direction to cooks assisting with banquet.
• Acts as a contact during the Banquet Chef's absence.
• Operates kitchen equipment including slicers, steamers, fryers, ovens, grills, kettles, and griddles.
• Trains staff to cook, prepare, dish, and assemble all menu items.
• Ensures sanitation and nutrition practices are followed by kitchen staff.
