Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated, including Turfway Park Racing & Gaming, is seeking a Banquet Kitchen Cook to lead the preparation and execution of banquet menus. You will coordinate with the Banquet Chef, supervise cooks, and ensure that all dishes meet recipe standards and sanitation guidelines in a fast-paced environment.

You will train staff, operate standard kitchen equipment, and help manage portion control and food quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary school degree or two-year technical degree preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in a professional kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency of product to the guest.
• Assists the Banquet Chef in planning and executing banquet events.
• Provides direction to cooks assisting with banquet duties.
• Serves as a point of contact during the absence of Banquet Chef.
• Operates kitchen equipment including slicers, steamers, deep fryers, ovens, broilers, grills, mixers, kettles, and griddles.
• Trains staff to cook, prepare, dish, and assemble menu items.
