Job summary

The Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown Hotel, part of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, is seeking an Events Houseperson to setup, service, and breakdown all meeting rooms in line with our high standards. You will move staging, tables, chairs, and other equipment, supporting energy and venue readiness.

Experience with event setup is preferred but not required. You will maintain cleanliness, replenish supplies, and coordinate with the supervisor to meet guest needs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Can communicate well with guests.
• Willing to pitch in and help co-workers as part of a team.
• Knowledge of equipment and setup styles used in meeting rooms (tables, chairs, stages).
• Ability to lift/move tables, chairs and podiums up to 100 lbs and carry equipment up to 500 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up all meeting rooms to guest specifications and move heavy items from storage to rooms.
• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and water.
• Break down rooms after meetings and return items to storage.
• Maintain a cleaning schedule for rooms and ballrooms to keep them presentable.
• Coordinate with supervisor to ensure event needs are met during shifts.
• Adhere to attendance rules and be available for regular work.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The beautiful Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown Hotel, located in the heart of OKC's growing downtown destination area, is looking for the right candidate to join our Banquets team. An Events Houseperson is responsible for manually setting up, breaking down, and servicing all meeting rooms in accordance with Crescent's high standards of quality. Event set up experience strongly preferred, though not required.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

SCHEDULE: AM & PM Shifts

Job Duties:

• Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest. This includes considerable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dancefloors, etc., from storage areas to meeting rooms
• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and freshwater.
• Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concluded and return to the storage closet so the room will be available to be reset for the next function.
• Maintain an established cleaning schedule of meeting rooms and ballrooms so the rooms stay presentable at all times.
• Communicate with supervisor throughout shift to be aware of event needs.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must have the ability to communicate in English.
• Self‑starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Can communicate well with guests.
• Must be willing to “pitch‑in” and help co‑workers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in the meeting rooms. For example different table types (round, schoolroom, etc.).
• Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to 100 lbs.
• This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room set up and break down.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 lbs.
