Job summary

Marcus Theatres is seeking a Kitchen Manager who will oversee daily kitchen operations, supervise staff, and ensure food safety and quality for both banquet and restaurant services. The role involves scheduling, inventory, training, and adherence to standard recipes.

You will manage ordering, receive and store food items, and maintain clean, compliant kitchen conditions while coordinating with theatre show times and events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ supervisory/management experience in a similar size operation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced kitchen.
• 2–3 years as a lead cook experience.
• Strong knowledge of safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise daily line operation.
• Prepare all food items for banquet and restaurant use according to standard recipes.
• Visually inspect and sample all food for taste, color, and presentation.
• Schedule appropriate staff for banquet functions, theatre show times, and forecasts.
• Maintain kitchen inventory and place orders as needed.
• Perform daily duties including open/close checklists and special projects.
• Supervise staff including training, counseling, and discipline.
• Ensure proper food ordering, receiving, and storage to maintain freshness.
• Maintain positive relations with management and kitchen staff.
• Enforce hand hygiene and glove use to prevent cross-contamination.
• Enforce food safety requirements for preparation, handling, and storage.
• Note: duties may include other tasks as assigned.
