Job summary

Marcus Theatres Corporation is seeking a Kitchen Supervisor for our Marcus Oakdale Cinema location to lead a fast-paced dining environment and ensure quality service for guests.

You will oversee kitchen operations, train staff, manage inventory, and maintain food safety while delivering high standards for both banquets and theatre dining. This role is part-time with weekend availability, offering opportunities to develop leadership skills in a hospitality-focused theater setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory/management position in a similar size operation.
• 2-3 years as a lead cook prior to management.
• Thorough working knowledge of specific food preparation.
• Above-average working knowledge of safety and sanitation standards.
• Extensive experience with slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
• Basic mathematical skills to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise daily line operation.
• Prepare all food items for banquet and restaurant use according to standard recipes.
• Visually inspect and sample all food for taste, color, and presentation to maintain appeal.
• Schedule appropriate staff for banquet functions, theatre show times, and weekly forecasts.
• Supervise all assigned staff including training, counseling, and discipline.
• Ensure proper ordering, receiving and storage of all food items in refrigerators, freezers and dry storage to maintain freshness.
• Perform daily duties and special projects.
• Be responsible for ordering food for the following days.
• Rotate food products to minimize spoilage and waste.
• Ensure all equipment in the work area is properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Perform other duties as required (e.g., special orders/modifications, food orders by ticket).
• Maintain banquet event orders and food delivery requests per daily guidelines.
• Attendance in conformance with policy standards.
