The Hilton New Orleans Riverside is seeking a Banquet Sous Chef to join our culinary team! In this role, you will oversee all banquet production and operations, ensuring efficiency alongside our culinary team.

Connected to the Riverwalk outlets in New Orleans' central business district, this property features 1,700 guest rooms, 130,000 square feet of event space, and six unique dining options.

This role will primarily focus on hot banquet production. We are seeking an energetic, career-driven individual with a positive approach to hospitality.

What will I be doing?

As a Banquet Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Banquet Chef to manage kitchen operations, focusing on Banquets, to deliver excellent guest experiences. You will manage food provisions, assist with guest inquiries, and control costs. Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing all kitchen aspects related to Banquets, including operational, quality, and administrative functions
  • Ensuring food quality and compliance with legislation
  • Responding to guest queries promptly
  • Maintaining food quality and storage standards
  • Contributing to menu creation based on guest feedback
  • Ensuring high-quality food production across all outlets
  • Managing customer relations in the absence of senior management
  • Managing resources and staff rotations effectively
  • Training and assessing team members to support brand standards
  • Leading the kitchen team to ensure organization and motivation
  • Controlling costs while maintaining standards and profitability
  • Supporting other departments and maintaining good relationships
  • Complying with safety, fire, health, and food safety regulations
  • Reporting maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues
  • Being environmentally conscious
