Job summary

The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, NC is seeking a Banquet Houseman to support event setup, service, and teardown. The role involves preparing banquet rooms according to BEOs and diagrams, assisting servers, and maintaining cleanliness of both FOH and BOH areas.

Candidates must be able to lift 75 lbs, stand for long periods, and work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. English fluency is required and prior hotel banquet experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years as banquet houseman in a hotel preferred.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods.
• Flexible shift including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up event rooms in accordance with hotel standards and BEO/diagrams.
• Place bottled water and candy amenity for each guest in the AM and refresh at lunch.
• Steam/iron linens.
• Perform room turns as needed and assist servers with refreshes.
• Assist guests with transporting/moving boxes/equipment within the hotel.
• Carefully protect hotel equipment and assets from damage.
• Clean and maintain banquet areas: vacuum, dust, mop, wipe, sweep.
