Job summary

The Houston Grand – River Oaks is seeking a Banquet Assistant to support the Banquet Manager in preparing for events and ensuring a positive guest experience. You will set up meeting rooms, transport and arrange equipment, and maintain cleanliness throughout functions.

The role requires substantial physical activity, including lifting up to 100 lbs and moving heavier items with assistance; strong communication with supervisors and staff is essential. Benefits are offered to qualified employees.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of various types of equipment and setup styles used in meeting rooms.
• Ability to lift and move multiple tables, chairs, and podiums up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry or move goods up to 500 lbs with a cart/truck.

Responsibilities

• Set up all meeting rooms to the guest specifications.
• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and water.
• Break down meeting rooms after meetings and return items to storage.
• Maintain cleaning schedules for rooms and ballrooms.
• Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
