Job summary

Cherokee Town & Country Club is seeking a Banquet Houseman to join our Banquets team. You will help set up and tear down banquet spaces, assist with event prep and room resets, and ensure spaces align with the Cherokee Standard for weddings, meetings, and parties.

We value a friendly, detail-oriented professional who can work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Previous club or private-event experience is preferred, and ServSafe certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Friendliness and a professional, welcoming presence.
• Attention to detail in setting up and breaking down spaces.
• Experience as a houseman or similar role in a private club or hotel.
• Basic understanding of event setup and room resets.
• Strong verbal communication skills with team members and guests.
• Ability to stay on your feet, move around, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• ServSafe certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare banquet spaces by setting up tables, chairs, linens, and equipment.
• Set up rooms for weddings, meetings, parties and other events.
• Arrange spaces according to guest expectations and Cherokee Standard.
• Serve or assist in serving food items as needed.
• Clean, organize and refresh banquet rooms and storage areas.
• Inventory and care for banquet supplies.
• Assist with event preparation, room resets and related duties.
• Support banquet operations as directed by management.
