Responsibilities

  • Review event orders and setup diagrams to ensure accurate layouts and schedules.
  • Arrange tables, chairs, staging, linens, service stations, and décor as specified.
  • Set up A/V and lighting; report technical issues to leadership.
  • Assist with tear-down and room reset after events and store equipment.
  • Maintain clear walkways and ensure compliance with safety and accessibility requirements.
  • Keep banquet areas neat, clean, and stocked during setup and breakdown.
  • Monitor equipment and report maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate with Banquet Captains, Servers, and Culinary staff for smooth event flow.
  • Respond quickly to changes or last-minute requests and assist guests as needed.

Job Purpose

The Banquet Set-Up Attendant is responsible for preparing and resetting event spaces to ensure all banquet functions are executed smoothly and professionally. This role supports the physical setup of furniture, décor, staging, and equipment as outlined in Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and works closely with banquet leadership to ensure rooms are clean, safe, and welcoming for guests.

Responsibilities
  • Review BEOs or event setup diagrams to ensure all layouts are accurate and completed on schedule.
  • Arrange tables, chairs, staging, linens, service stations, and décor according to specifications.
  • Set up A/V and lighting components as instructed; report any technical issues to leadership.
  • Support tear-down and reset of rooms after events, including removal and storage of all equipment.
  • Maintain clear walkways and ensure setup complies with safety standards and accessibility requirements.
  • Keep banquet areas neat, clean, and stocked throughout setup and breakdown.
  • Maintain equipment rooms, storage spaces, and organization systems for furniture and service tools.
  • Monitor condition of furniture, linens, and equipment; report needed maintenance or replacements.
  • Work collaboratively with Banquet Captains, Servers, and Culinary staff to support seamless event flow.
  • Respond quickly to changes, guest needs, or last-minute adjustments to floor plans.
  • Assist with guest service when needed, including greeting, directing, and responding to requests.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in hospitality, events, or facilities support preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently under time constraints.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and behavior while working in public spaces.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service where applicable (if assisting in service areas).
Working Conditions
  • Schedule varies based on business needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Regular movement throughout the venue is required, including time spent at the host stand, bar, dining areas, and service stations.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking are common during shifts.
  • Duties may include reaching, bending, lifting, or carrying items up to 30-50 pounds (such as trays, racks, boxes, or bar supplies).
  • May occasionally assist with resetting tables, moving furniture, or supporting team needs during peak service.
  • Vision requirements may include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to loud noise levels, cleaning products, hot or cold food and beverage items, and fast-paced conditions.
