Job summary

CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa in Carefree, AZ is seeking part-time banquet or events staff to help create memorable guest experiences.

You will set up tables, chairs, linens, and AV equipment, arrange staging, monitor safety, and maintain clean banquet spaces before and after events. Hospitality experience is a plus; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous banquet or event setup experience is preferred but not required.
• Hospitality or resort experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables, chairs, linens, and equipment according to banquet orders and event needs.
• Arrange staging, dance floors, podiums, and audio-visual equipment as requested.
• Disassemble setups and return equipment after events.
• Maintain cleanliness of banquet spaces before and after events.
• Inspect and report damaged or missing equipment to the Banquet Manager.
• Collaborate with the Banquet Manager and catering staff on event layouts and requirements.
• Ensure proper placement of signage, decorations, and other event materials.
• Follow safety protocols for furniture, equipment, and electrical systems.
• Ensure setups comply with local fire and safety regulations.
• Work with the banquet team to deliver guest experiences and respond to last-minute changes.

Requirements

We are seeking passionate, service-oriented, positive and hard-working individuals with a love for health and wellness, and an excitement for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Room Setup & Breakdown:

Set up tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment according to banquet event orders (BEOs).

Arrange staging, dance floors, podiums, and audio-visual equipment as requested.

Disassemble setups and return equipment to designated storage areas after events.

Cleanliness & Maintenance:

Maintain the cleanliness of banquet spaces, ensuring they are presentable before and after events.

Inspect and report any damaged or missing equipment to the Banquet Manager.

Event Preparation:

Collaborate with the Banquet Manager and catering staff to confirm event layouts and requirements.

Ensure proper placement of signage, decorations, and other event materials.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow safety protocols while handling furniture, equipment, and electrical systems.

Ensure all setups comply with local fire and safety regulations.

Work closely with the banquet team and other departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Respond to last-minute changes or adjustments to setups promptly and efficiently.

Qualifications

Experience:

Previous experience in banquet or event setup preferred, but not required.

Experience in hospitality or resort settings is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
