Job summary

Omaha Marriott Downtown, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Banquet Set-up team member to prepare spaces for events and ensure a first-class guest experience in a fast-paced venue.

You will set up banquet spaces, assist with room upkeep, and help serve guests while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. Prior hospitality experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and proper set-up.
• Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and produce high quality work.
• Must be professional, well-groomed and courteous at all times.
• Previous hospitality/customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet spaces per BEO and provide customer service per contract.
• Assist in maintaining and coordinating banquet rooms, including setup and cleanup.
• Maintain banquet facility cleanliness by cleaning and vacuuming carpets in a 24-hour operation.
• Aid in serving guests as necessary and understand event setup requirements.
• Organize and restock linen room and supplies, attend department meetings and trainings.
• Uphold quality and service standards.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

What You Will Be Doing

• Set up banquet spaces as per Banquet Event Order (BEO) and provide customer service per contract.
• Assist in maintaining and coordinating banquet rooms, including setup, upkeep, breakdown, and cleaning.
• Maintain banquet facility cleanliness by cleaning and vacuuming carpets. Work reliably in a 24-hour operation, accommodating varied schedules and high-pressure situations.
• Aid in serving guests as necessary and understand event setup requirements.
• Organize and restock linen room and supplies, attending mandatory department meetings and trainings.
• Uphold quality and service standards.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and proper set-up as well as have basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, produce high quality and accurate work as well as show professionalism in all facets of the workplace.
• Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner at all times
• Previous hospitality/customer service experience is preferred.
