Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management’s Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach, MO offers a summer internship for current undergraduates (May–August 2027) in the Banquets Department. Pay is $15.00 per hour with weekly gratuity and on-the-job training provided.

No prior experience is required; you will learn banquet setup, service, and event operations while interacting with guests in a fast-paced, energetic environment. Excellent for hospitality students.

Qualifications

• Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
• Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care.
• Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change.
• Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare function rooms for banquet service: tablecloths, table decorations, silverware and condiments etc.
• Serve at various banquet functions, indoors and outdoors; serve non-alcoholic drinks, bring food to guests at table or serve on a buffet line.
• Clean and clear function rooms after event.
• Complete all side work responsibilities as directed by management.
• Ensure quality guest service and comfort at all times by monitoring the area continuously.
• Have knowledge of all menu items, specials, beverages, wines, etc.
• Serve all items using appropriate china, glassware, silverware, garnish, and condiments.
• Assist other servers when needed.
• Immediately relay all guest complaints and compliments to management.
• Maintain health and sanitation standards.
• Other duties may be assigned.

THIS IS A SUMMER INTERNSHIP, OPEN ONLY TO CURRENT UNDERGRADS FOR SUMMER 2027 (MAY TO AUGUST 2027). PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS IN A STUDYING HOSPITALITY OR A RELATED FIELD.

$15 per hour plus weekly gratuity

Groups come to Margaritaville Lake Resort for their event because they that among the good vibes and the beautiful venue, their event will be smooth-sailing. Join us in the Banquets Department this summer and be part of creating and delivering fun and escapism for our guests while ensuring that every detail of a wide variety of events is taken care of. Experience is not required - we will train you on the job. The Banquets team is upbeat, energetic and fun! You should possess an outgoing and positive attitude as well as a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. There are opportunities for those who want to learn what goes on behind the scenes too. Spend time talking to or shadowing the Catering Manager, learn about forecasting and scheduling and attend management meetings. The possibilities are up to you! You must be able to stand for long periods of time, present a confident and friendly personality and be able to remain calm under pressure. We'll take care of the rest!

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Minimum lifting and/or pulling of 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques
