The Hotel Zamora, a boutique hotel in St. Pete Beach, FL, is seeking a friendly Banquet/Server to join our Food & Beverage team. The role involves setting up events, serving guests, taking orders, and coordinating with other servers in a fast-paced environment.

We value excellent communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to multi-task while maintaining composure. Part-time availability including weekends and weekdays is required; prior hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel/hospitality or related service industry experience strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass required Alcohol service training.
• Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Sets up for events, carries trays, serves guests, and cleans up at the event’s conclusion.
• Set up includes: putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement.
• Clean up includes breaking down tables and removing linens to laundry.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of menu and market specials; suggests alternatives.
• Takes and fills customer orders and serves food and beverages.
• Coordinates service with other servers and refills beverages as needed.
• Accepts payments and makes accurate change; checks IDs for alcohol service.

The Hotel Zamora, a beautiful boutique hotel located in St. Pete Beach, FL is seeking a Server. The Hotel Zamora is under new ownership and management with Sherman Associates, an accomplished and proven real estate development and management company. With stunning views overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway and Gulf of Mexico, the Hotel Zamora provides a luxurious retreat for its guests. Besides relaxing in the beautifully appointed guest rooms, our guests experience intuitive service in our Rooftop Lounge, Sidewalk Restaurant, Private Dining, and Meeting/Banquet space.

This Banquet Server plays a major role in the Hotel’s Food & Beverage experience. The Spirit to Serve is a key element in a positive experience. Consistency is critical, which is achieved by going above and beyond for the guests. A Banquet Server must be friendly, courteous, professional, and possess good communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and be able to think and act quickly and effectively while maintaining self-composure.

Schedule: We are currently seeking part-time availability to include both weekends and weekdays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Sets up for events, carries trays, serves guests, and cleans up at the event’s conclusion.
• Set up includes: putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement, and putting up a buffet.
• Clean up includes: breaking down tables and taking tablecloths and linens to laundry.
• Inspects linen, silver, china, and other items prior to using them.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of menu; market specials and suggest alternatives to guests.
• Takes and fills customer orders.
• Checks food prior to serving; ensures presentation and temperature is in accordance with company standards.
• Coordinates service with other servers.
• Serves food and beverages to guests, refills beverages as needed.
• Responds to customer requests and complaints in a timely and courteous manner.
• Uses a computer to ring orders on a check.
• Accepts different types of payment and makes accurate change.
• Checks for identification of guests to ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages.
• Refuses to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age.
• Observes behavior, counts number of alcoholic drinks served, and ask a manager to intervene, as necessary.
• Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs.

• Previous hotel/hospitality or related service industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass required Alcohol service training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This job operates behind the bar and other close quarters in close proximity to co-workers. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping and burns.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to sit or stand in designated work area throughout the day based on business needs.
• Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the designated work area.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach tables and kitchen in a timely manner.
• Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. frequently throughout shift, and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Requires grasping, writing, sitting or standing, moving about freely, using computer, repetitive motions, bending, reaching, crouching, and communicating effectively.
• Must be willing and able to wash hands frequently throughout the shift
