Job summary

Fenway Hotel in Dunedin, Florida, part of Mainsail Lodging & Development and Marriott Autograph Collection, is seeking an enthusiastic Banquet Server to help deliver flawless events. You will greet guests, set up banquet spaces, serve meals with attention to allergies, clear and reset tables, and collaborate with our culinary and service teams to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

This role requires a polished presence, strong communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospitality

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or higher.
  • Previous hospitality and/or banquet serving experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to use technology to include computers, tablets, POS and iPads.
  • Knowledge of local laws regarding serving and consumption of alcohol.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a welcoming, energetic presence.
  • Set up banquet space per event order and arrange tables, dishes, and décor.
  • Serve meals to guests, accommodating allergies and special requests.
  • Clear and reset tables, and manage station areas during events.
  • Collaborate with servers and culinary staff to ensure timely, seamless service.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu offerings and ongoing product training.
  • Follow TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible alcohol service.

Job Summary

The Banquet Server is responsible for the flawless implementation of all banquet events to ensure exceptional service to all guests during banquet events. This includes greeting guests, serving them, and setting up and breaking down of event areas. The Banquet Server will do this in a manner and practice that is consistent and in accordance with the Marriott Autograph Collection standards under the franchise of Mainsail Lodging & Development.

Essential Job Functions
  • Engage guests with a welcoming, knowledgeable, and energetic presence
  • Set up functions in the banquet space and/or other areas within the hotel as indicated in the Banquet Event Order
  • Serve meals to the guest in a professional and hospitable manner, ensuring the meals are delivered to the correct recipient with allergies and specific meal requests in mind
  • Set up for banquet functions to include placement of dishes, silverware, glasses, chafers, serving ware, linens, various décor, and condiments
  • Pre-set tables to include (but not limited to) water, menus, and salads
  • Manage and maintain stations or station areas during the banquet period, and inform supervisor of any changes or needs that do not negatively impact the guest experience
  • Serve alcoholic beverage to guests while following local laws regarding alcohol consumption and checking validity of age
  • Bus tables and station area quickly and quietly
  • Clean up and break down the function area upon the end of the event; to include clearing of tables and banquet space, removal of food receptacles, and removal of linen and décor
  • Report to work punctually, well-groomed, and in appropriate attire
  • Address customer concerns or complaints calmly and promptly
  • Collaborate with servers and culinary staff to ensure timely and seamless service for food and beverage items
  • Maintain knowledge of current menu offerings, including ingredients, preparations, and accompaniments
  • Continually train on new products and recipes
  • Follow TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcohol
  • Other tasks as assigned
Hotel Performance

Ensure successful performance by assisting guests with an exceptional experience to ensure high performing scores on the GSS (Guest Satisfaction Surveys) according to Marriott and Mainsail/Fenway standards.

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or higher
  • Previous hospitality and/or banquet serving experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to use technology to include computers, tablets, POS and iPads
  • Working knowledge of food and beverages
  • Knowledge of local laws regarding serving and consumption of alcohol

24 hour Operation Info

NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
