Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking on-call Event Servers for our Kansas City venue. You will help prepare banquet spaces, present menus, and support beverage service while ensuring a clean, inviting environment for guests.

Two years of food and beverage serving experience is required; strong etiquette and guest-relations skills are essential. Availability on Friday and Saturday evenings is preferred. This is an on-call Hospitality position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior food and beverage serving experience is required.
• Open availability on Friday and Saturday evenings.
• Strong knowledge of service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Ability to read, speak, write and understand English to communicate menus and orders.
• Ability to remember and promote menu items.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy trays up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Make the function space visually appealing and present menu offerings.
• Assist with linen, place settings, and beverage service.
• Design and set up food stations and monitor service quality.
• Perform general banquet preparation and room refreshes.
• Maintain a sanitary environment throughout shifts.

Job Overview

Event servers are responsible for making the function space visually appealing and presenting the menu offering for the event. This may include linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Other duties include general banquet preparation, room refreshes and maintaining a sanitary environment.

• Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Working knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service-ware, and menu items.
• Ability to read, speak, write and understand English sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests to explain and record orders.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the entire variety of exciting menu items
• Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 50lbs through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform essential functions for an extended period of time.
