Job summary

The Banquet Server position at Golden Nugget Laughlin delivers and serves food and beverage items to banquet guests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner, supporting the hotel’s ongoing commitment to outstanding guest service. You will assist with setup, maintain event timelines, anticipate guest needs, and ensure sanitation and safety standards are followed.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor; must be available for various shifts including early morning, late nights, double shifts, occasional triple shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours.
• Understanding of basic room diagrams for station setups and seating charts.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group environments to customers, clients, and or employees of organizations that we serve.
• 1 year prior food service experience required, preferably in Banquets.

Responsibilities

• Assist and prepare in set up of the banquet area prior to guest arrival to ensure room design is executed correctly
• Maintain timeline of events to ensure seamless service
• Anticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Follow all state and local laws for serving alcohol responsibly
• Maintain cleanliness and condition of stations, tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines
• Maintain complete knowledge of the daily scheduled group functions, times, locations, amount of people; location of all Golden Nugget function space and names of rooms; all styles of meeting and banquet room settings
