Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Banquet Server to support the Food & Beverage team in setup and service for events. Under the guidance of the Food & Beverage Manager, you will ensure quality guest service and timely execution.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years in a public-contact role, basic POS system use, strong English communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

What this role is all about

Under the general guidance of the Food and Beverage Manager, assist in ensuring all duties and responsibilities for the set-up and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions, according to the hotel standards.

What you'll be doing

Duties & Functions:

• Maintain up to date and accurate knowledge of all Food and Beverage
• Set up stations and do side jobs to ensure adequate mise-en-place
• Provide a genuine warm and caring service to guests
• Set up events within the required time
• Maintain the Room Service and Events equipment and area in an organized and clean condition at all times
• Maintain good communication with all team members and guestsPerform all other duties as requested

Specific Job Knowledge & Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• One to two years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel
• Enter and locate work related information using computers and/or point of sale systems
• Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
• Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
• Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork

Physical Abilities:

• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information

Hourly rate is from $20.07 to $21.07 follows contract requirements.
