Job summary

Keswick Hall And Club in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Banquet Server to join our Food & Beverage team full time. You will deliver exceptional service for weddings, conferences, and private events in our luxury setting at 600 acres near the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service, knowledge of wine and beverages, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced banquet environment. CPR/First Aid AED certification and a flexible schedule are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 0-2 years banquet serving experience.
• CPR, First Aid AED certification.
• Strong wine, cocktail and menu knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of food & beverage.
• Strong ability to multitask and observe entire dining room.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize.
• Ability to work varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to go up and down staircase, stoop and bend.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee breaks, carts and stations with appropriate supplies.
• Organize tables, action stations, buffets, and carts for service.
• Communicate any additional meal requirements or special requests to the kitchen.
• Ensure courses are properly cleared and crumbed in a timely fashion.
• Manage the presentation of tableware so that it is accessible for the guests.
• Recognize and address potential intoxicated disruptive or undesirable guests.
• Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitization of tables, stations and service areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

This is the setting for Keswick Hall, an impressive 80-room luxury boutique hotel nestled on 600 acres which recently re-opened in 2021 after renovations. Home to the prestigious Keswick Golf Club, Marigold Restaurant, by Jean-Georges, a new luxury spa and sports and aquatics center.

The Banquet Server is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to delivering the best in service.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Prepare coffee breaks, carts and stations with appropriate supplies.
• Organize tables, action stations, buffets, and carts for service.

• Strong ability to multi-task and observe entire dining room.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• The ability to be descriptive and engaging in the presentation.
• Must possess the ability to organize and prioritize.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts as will involve days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to go up and down staircase as well as stoop and bend.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
