Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a part-time Banquet Server at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. You will deliver food and beverage service for catered events, from casual buffets to formal plated meals, ensuring a positive guest experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous banquet, catering, food service, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol.
• Must maintain a valid TIPS/TEAM (or equivalent) alcohol-service certification.
• A food handler certification may be required depending on state/local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide food and beverage services for catered events, including meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and functions.
• Support a range of service styles from casual buffets to formal plated meals and passed service.
• Work under the direction of the Banquet Captain and Banquet Supervisor in setup, service execution, and breakdown.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas during events.
• Clear tables, reset place settings, and assist with presentation standards.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Attend scheduled shifts on time; reliable attendance.
