Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking an on-call Banquet Server for Hilton Orrington Evanston in Evanston, IL. You will set up banquet spaces, greet guests, serve courses, and ensure guest satisfaction during events. This is a unionized, on-call position located at our historic hotel in Evanston.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of banquet serving experience and be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Food handler and TIPS certification are a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a banquet server.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Food handlers and TIPS (or equivalent) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor, including linen, service ware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars and guest expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve the food and/or beverage as directed to ensure consistency.
• Abide by State, Federal and Corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages as necessary and check guest satisfaction.
• Reset banquet room after completion for the next function.
