Job summary

The Lodge at Torrey Pines, operated by Evans Hotels, is seeking an experienced Banquet Server to deliver courteous, timely, and professional restaurant service for banquet events in La Jolla, CA. You will demonstrate menu knowledge, greet guests warmly, and provide proactive service to ensure guest satisfaction.

This on-call role requires weekend/holiday availability, food handler certification upon hire, and a strong wine and beverage knowledge base to support a premium hospitality experience

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
• Previous similar position in a restaurant or hotel is preferred.
• Experience in dealing with the public is required, such as customer service in retail, food & beverage, hospitality, etc.
• Strong knowledge of service, food, beverages, and wine, including proficiency in bottled wine service and cocktail order-taking.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire; training provided at the company’s expense.
• RBS certification required.
• Must be able to lift heavy trays and stand for prolonged periods, up to 25 lbs.

• Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
• Must be able to lift heavy trays (up to 10 entrees per tray), stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
• The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
