Job Summary
Responsible for assisting with the setup and breakdown of the event space and serving food and/or beverages in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner according to the hotel's high standards of quality.
Essential Job Functions

- Gather supplies and set up the banquet room as described in the Banquet Event Order and instructed by the Banquet Captain, including linen, service ware, and glassware.
- Attend pre-event stand-up meetings to learn function details, including guest and hotel expectations.
- Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Serve food and beverages according to the Banquet Captain's instructions to ensure consistency.
- Bus dishes promptly after each course or at the end of the meal or function.
- Replenish beverages as needed and check with guests for satisfaction.
- After the banquet, clear and reset the rooms as per supervisor’s specifications for the next event.
- Line out supplies for future functions as directed.
- Perform side work such as replenishing condiments and restocking supplies.
- Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, adhering to health standards.
- Follow all company policies, safety, and security procedures.
- Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
- Use protective equipment and report unsafe conditions or incidents to supervisors.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as outlined in the team member handbook.
- Perform any additional duties as requested by supervisors or managers.
- Assist other banquet personnel when needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of liquor regulations related to serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Hold a current Food Handler Card.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and guest relations.
- Knowledge of proper table settings and service ware.
- Basic English language skills to understand inquiries and give instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow product labeling instructions for safety.
- Ability to remember and promote menu items.
- Ability to operate beverage equipment, such as coffee makers.
Physical Demands
- Transport up to 30 lbs. continuously throughout the shift in a crowded environment.
- Lifting maximum of 30 pounds.
- Push or move goods weighing up to 100 lbs. using carts or trucks.
- Frequent twisting, bending, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
