Location Overview

The Banquet Server is responsible for setting up and serving food and beverages at all banquet functions according to hotel standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all employees and guests in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  2. Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns from employees and guests.
  3. Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  4. Maintain a friendly, courteous, and attentive demeanor with guests and employees.
  5. Attend all required hotel meetings and training sessions.
  6. Maintain regular attendance as per Highgate standards, with flexible scheduling.
  7. Present a professional appearance, including proper uniform and grooming.
  8. Follow hotel standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  9. Identify and assist in solving problems to improve productivity.
  10. Handle issues proactively, including anticipating and preventing problems.
  11. Understand and apply complex information from various sources to meet objectives.
  12. Cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of information.
  14. Show initiative by anticipating guest and operational needs.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  16. Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  17. Serve guests promptly and efficiently, knowing the menu and BEO details.
  18. Respond appropriately to guest problems, complaints, and accidents, informing management as needed.
  19. Set tables according to hotel standards.
  20. Keep the banquet storeroom organized and stocked.
  21. Clean and reset banquet space after events.
  22. Prepare rooms according to BEO and meal functions.
  23. Follow money handling procedures when serving guests.
  24. Use suggestive selling techniques effectively.
  25. Provide accurate descriptions of menu items.
  26. Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the service.
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, with hotel or related experience advantageous.

  • Flexible with working long hours when necessary.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
