Position Description – Banquet Server
Direct Supervisor: General Manager, Management Team
Job Summary
The Banquet Server is responsible for setting up banquet events, carrying trays, serving guests, and assisting event cleanup to ensure the needs of the client are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
- Daily set‑up and breakdown of food and beverage products for catered events.
- Food preparation for daily activities and scheduled events.
- Serving food and beverage product to event participants, vendors, and host clients.
- Assist with event coordination; table set‑ups, place settings, serving areas and discarded products.
- Assist with event clean up; on‑site or off‑site, all plates, dishes, silverware, glassware, linens, chairs, and garbage.
- Assist with moving catering products back to catering kitchen.
- Print food and product labels and signage for buffets.
- Maintain participation awareness of upcoming catering events and event orders.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and uniform.
- Communicate effectively with guests and managers to handle last minute requests.
- Communicate effectively with Catering Director and Chefs; assist when needed.
- Due to the nature of our business, team members are expected to be available and work weekends, late evenings, and holidays, as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Well‑organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.
- Ability to operate point‑of‑sale systems.
Education and Experience
- Must be at least sixteen years old (at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages).
- Previous experience as a server preferred.
- Must successfully complete restaurant training course.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
