Job summary

Marriott Jacksonville Downtown is seeking a Banquet Server to assist in delivering exceptional guest experiences at our on-site banquet events in downtown Jacksonville.

You will help set up rooms, greet guests, serve food and beverages, and ensure smooth operations under the Supervisor's guidance. The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and strong communication in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must be willing to pitch-in and help coworkers.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of proper table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to understand and apply product labeling instructions for safe use of products in the hotel.
• Ability to remember and promote menu items.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and operate beverage equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Strong verbal and written communication; adapt style to audience.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor, including linen, serviceware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function specifics and guest expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Serve food and/or beverages in the order and to the Supervisor's expectations.
• Promptly remove dishes as guests finish each course and reset the banquet area after events.
• Comply with state, federal, and corporate alcohol service requirements.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction.
• Reset banquet room for the next function after completion.
• Abide by attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

No**Overview**Assist Banquet Manager in the serving of guests during banquet functions to ensure positive guest experience.### **Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, serviceware and glassware.* Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.* Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.* Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
