Job Overview

Under general supervision, provides prompt and courteous food service to customers. Responsible for setting up, serving, and breaking down assigned functions safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Read BEOs and complete set-up accordingly.
  • Set tables correctly and uniformly in assigned areas.
  • Maintain a neat and clean station while serving guests, following established policies and procedures.
  • Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray breakdown procedures for buffets or other special food service tables and equipment.
  • Assist Lead Banquet Server with setup and breakdown of buffet and other food service tables and equipment.
  • Greet and serve guests following policies and procedures regarding food and beverage service.
  • Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures when serving a-la-carte and beverages.
  • Complete assigned sidework.
  • Remain attentive to guests throughout their dining experience, exceeding service standards when possible.
  • Work flexible shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel locally for outside catering functions as required.
Qualifications

Education/Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: At least 6 months in a similar role.

Knowledge/Skills: Basic knowledge of customer service principles, food service functions, and restaurant and kitchen operations.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 20-40 lbs. trays and dish racks, push carts weighing 50-100 lbs., and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to maneuver in narrow spaces and handle multiple tasks in noisy environments. No driving required.

Environment: The role involves strenuous physical activity, including prolonged standing, walking, and lifting, mostly indoors, with occasional work in freezer temperatures as low as -10°F.
