Job summary

Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel in Toledo, Ohio is seeking an experienced Banquet Captain to oversee all banquet function activities, ensuring timely setup and service to guests.

You will schedule staff, coordinate Banquet Event Orders, and supervise service teams to maintain Star Service standards and superior guest experiences. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to handle high-volume events with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Experience as Banquet Captain in a high-volume hotel/restaurant or banquet operation.
• Broad knowledge of banquet and food service techniques and standards.
• Strong leadership, management, organizational and communication skills.
• Exceptional guest service abilities and professional demeanor.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Ability to lift and carry 35+ pounds.
• Ability to stand, stoop and bend repeatedly during shifts.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all aspects of assigned banquet function activities, ensuring proper setup and readiness at scheduled times.
• Schedules staff according to guidelines and forecasted needs.
• Coordinates Banquet Event Orders and ensures timely execution of setup, food prep, and service.
• Assigns stations and duties; supervises completion of setup/prep activities.
• Monitors banquet personnel performance and ensures Star Service standards.
