Job summary

Defoor Hospitality Group is seeking a Banquet Supervisor in the Chattanooga area to manage banquet operations on shift, lead servers, bartenders and housemen, and ensure spaces are guest-ready with top service standards.

You will oversee event setup, service and breakdown, maintain cleanliness and presentation, and handle guest interactions with professionalism and warmth. Prior hotel or catering experience and leadership time are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for coaching the team
• Excellent guest interaction and professionalism
• Ability to resolve guest and staff issues calmly and effectively
• Organizational prowess to manage multiple events and staff assignments
• Proficiency with hotel/banquet software and Excel or similar tools
• Attention to detail and customer orientation
• Basic math for counts, billing, and guarantees
• Fluency in reading/writing English; formal reading is preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervises setup and breakdown of events and directs staff during shift
• Captains events and coordinates servers, bartenders, and housemen
• Assists with buffet setup and food orders
• Circles guest floor to assist servers and ensure service standards
• Verifies guest count guarantees for accurate billing
• Generates guest checks and captain reports for each event
• Creates side work tasks and follows up on completion
• Coaches staff in the moment and notifies the Director of Banquets of issues
