Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts seeks a Banquets Manager for the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, WI. You will lead the Banquets department, orchestrate flawless events, oversee banquet operations, and contribute to the resort's dining outlets.

Your leadership will ensure memorable events and exceptional guest experiences. The role requires at least 1 year of F&B supervisory experience, flexibility for nights/weekends/holidays, and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily F&B and banquet operations, including scheduling and guest relations.
• Maintain knowledge of menu and wine list, including service standards.
• Inspect function spaces for cleanliness and setup.
• Provide leadership to departments to meet goals and inspire employees.
• Supervise front-of-house F&B staff.
• Participate in key meetings (BEO, resume meetings).
• Use guest feedback to develop improvement plans.
• Communicate with culinary/management teams to resolve complaints.

What will you be doing?

• Assist in managing daily F&B and banquet operations, including scheduling, cost control, and guest relations.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of the menu and wine list, including preparation and service standards.
• Inspect function spaces and outlets for cleanliness and proper setup.
• Provide leadership to departments to meet goals and objectives, while inspiring employees.
• Supervise, train, and manage front-of-house F&B staff.
• Participate in key operational meetings, including BEO and resume meetings.
• Use customer satisfaction surveys to develop and implement improvement action plans.
• Communicate consistently with the culinary and management teams, addressing and resolving guest complaints.

• Minimum 1 year of food and beverage supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership skills to motivate and mentor team members.
• Versatile in managing diverse responsibilities and workforce; knowledgeable in F&B service and presentation.
• Great attention to detail, ensuring staff meets company standards for excellent customer service.
• Able to stand for long periods, work in confined spaces with high noise levels and frequent interruptions, and perform duties in extreme temperatures.
• High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
