Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Banquet Manager to lead the smooth execution of banquets, meetings, and events at the Best Western Premier Central Hotel. You will develop service standards and guide the banquet team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You will oversee recruitment, training, scheduling, and budget control, while coordinating with sales and event coordinators to ensure flawless events. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Description

The Banquet Manager is responsible to lead, and direct the smooth execution of all banquets, meetings, and events at the Best Western Premier, the Central Hotel. The Banquet Manager is responsible for developing, and adhering to, service standards as it relates to the execution of all banquets, meetings, and events.

• Guest Satisfaction & Loyalty: Client Feedback Forms, Event Recap Sheets, Medallia, Social Media.
• Team Building & Satisfaction: Reduce & Maintain Turnover, Culture, Training & Development.
• Financial – Food & Beverage Revenue, Wage Control, Cost Control, Gross Operating Profit.

Key Accountabilities:

• Exemplify positive actions to promote teamwork, professionalism, honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Provide overall leadership and vision for the banquet team by offering support and guidance as it relates to the execution of all banquet events.
• Interact directly with group contacts, leads, and attendees to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction as it relates to the execution of all banquet events.
• Recruit and select qualified banquet captains, and banquet service team members.
• Develop, teach, and train banquet team members to exceed guest expectations as it relates to the overall service and execution of all banquet events.
• Develop, and adhere, to all service standards as it relates to the execution of banquets, meetings, and events.
• Seeks opportunities to improve guest service techniques by seeking feedback, reviewing food & beverage reports, and through direct interaction with the guest.
• Maximize team member efficiency by utilizing forecasts to adjust, and maintain, scheduling.
• Be knowledgeable of the local competition and understand changes in their service approach.
• Attend and actively participate in weekly banquet event order meetings, and leadership team meetings.
• Effectively communicate with the property’s meeting and event coordinators to ensure the banquet team is successful in the execution of all banquets, meetings, and events.
• Lead and actively participate in banquet team meetings to assist in property planning as it pertains to budgeting, and capital expenditure projects.
• Thoroughly inspect all meeting space on a regular basis to ensure the highest level of cleanliness, and maintenance.

• Budget Management: Skill in adhering to a department budget.
• P&L Management: Understand how the Profit and Loss Statement is prepared, and the line items within each department, and how to impact each line.
• Payroll Control and Scheduling: Determine appropriate staffing levels based on forecasted revenue and anticipated business while optimizing profitability, guest service, and team member requests.

• Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing team members with the training, and resources needed to maximize team member engagement, and deliver exceptional service, and teamwork.
• Communicates and reinforces our mission, and vision, for service to all team members.
• Ensures all team members provide exceptional hospitality and demonstrate respect to all guests and team members.
• Responsible for training all team members on proper safety measures in the workplace in accordance with, but not limited to, OSHA standards.

Education & Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Food & Beverage or related studies preferred but not required.
• Must obtain and maintain RAMP Certification.
• 3+ years of experience working in a food & beverage management position.
• Previous banquet management experience in a hotel or hospitality/catering setting highly preferred but not required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
