Job summary

Embassy Suites Denton is seeking a Banquet Manager to lead a fast-paced events team and ensure flawless service from setup to teardown.

You will oversee high-profile galas and weddings, coach staff, and coordinate with sales hosts to meet guest expectations while maintaining safety and cleanliness standards. This active role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory leadership experience.
• Hospitality or banquets experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Master of Ceremonies: coordinate with the sales team and event hosts to handle last-minute requests gracefully.
• Team Captain: train, lead, and develop the banquet team while overseeing service operations.
• Detail Dynamo: manage room setups and post-event equipment inventory, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
• Growth Driver: help maximize venue revenue and align with company initiatives (O’H Reach, Green Team, Guest Service, Wellness).
• Lead and mentor a motivated team to deliver seamless events.

Your Day-to-Day as a Hospitality Champion

Master of Ceremonies: Anticipate future business needs, coordinate with the sales team, and meet directly with event hosts to handle last-minute requests with grace and poise.

Team Captain: Inspire, train, and develop a rock-star banquet team. You'll lead by example, jumping into service operations while recognizing and rewarding employees who go above and beyond.

Detail Dynamo: Oversee everything from pristine room setups to post-event equipment inventory, ensuring our high standards of safety, cleanliness, and security are always met.

Growth Driver: Assist in maximizing venue revenue and profit while fully embracing our unique company culture (including our O’Reach, Green Team, Guest Service, and Wellness initiatives!).

What You Bring to the Table

The Leadership Spark: You know how to motivate diverse personality types, handle high-pressure situations with a smile, and solve problems on the fly.

Experience: You have a High School Diploma/GED, at least 2 years of supervisory leadership experience, and ideally, a year or more in hospitality or banquets.

Tech & Communication Savvy: You boast excellent verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel.

The Stamina to Shine: This is an active role! You are comfortable standing, walking, and moving for long periods, can lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and possess a neat, professional appearance.

Flexibility: Because the party doesn't just happen from 9 to 5, your schedule will include nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
