Job summary

Medinah Country Club is seeking a Banquet Manager in Medinah, IL to lead the execution and service of member events, private parties, and club gatherings. You will supervise a banquet team, maintain a hands-on leadership presence, and ensure memorable experiences for members and guests.

Ideal candidates bring significant F&B and banquet leadership experience, a hands-on leadership style, and a passion for hospitality.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the execution and overall service of member events, Club events, private parties, meetings, golf outings, and special events.
• Maintain a visible, hand-on presence during events while engaging with members, guests, and team members.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and develop a professional and highly engaged banquet team.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team culture by setting the tone through daily leadership, supporting fellow leaders, and modeling exceptional hospitality in every interaction.
• Lead pre-function meetings to review event details, menus, timing, service expectations, assignments, and coordination with the culinary team.
• Partner closely with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage leadership to create a cohesive service experience.
• Oversee Banquet Setup operations, including event spaces, meeting setups, and audiovisual needs.
• Ensure event spaces, service areas, equipment, and supplies are prepared, maintained, and ready to support exceptional events.
• Establish and maintain high standards for banquet service, presentation, and creative Food & Beverage displays.
• Build strong relationships with members and guests while responding to questions, feedback, and concerns professionally and promptly.
• Develop and maintain ongoing training programs that strengthen service standards, leadership capabilities, and team performance.
• Support the Banquet Department's operating budget, financial goals, inventory, and departmental procedures.
• Collaborate with teams throughout the Club to ensure events are thoughtfully planned and seamlessly executed.

Qualifications: What We’re Looking For

• Significant experience in Food & Beverage management and banquet operations, preferably within a private club, hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment.
• Previous banquet leadership experience with a strong understanding of event service and execution.
• A hand-on leadership style with experience hiring, training, developing, and motivating a team.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional member and guest experiences.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events, priorities, and operational needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing departmental budgets, labor, inventory, and operational costs.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Banquet sales experience is preferred, but not required.

Salary Range: $90,000-$95,000 annually

Hospitality and creating exceptional experiences for our members and guests isn’t always Monday through Friday, so this position requires availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on Club operations and event schedules.
