Job summary

Avion Hospitality is seeking a Banquet Captain to supervise the setup, service, and cleanup of all assigned banquet functions at AC Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk.

The role requires strong leadership, guest service skills, and the ability to work under pressure, with one year of hotel experience and a High School diploma. Alcohol awareness certification is required; supervisory experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations).
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
• Familiarity with banquet operations and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
• Inspect the set-up of meeting and banquet functions, checking them against the Banquet Event Order.
• Supervise and assist with banquet set-up and service to ensure standards.
• Coordinate with Sales/Catering Manager and the in-house meeting or banquet contact.
• Prepare banquet checks and obtain signatures from guest contact.
• Monitor ongoing functions and assist servers as needed.
• Ensure proper liquor control and post-event clean-up.
• Enforce safety rules and hotel policies.
