Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners, LLC in Cincinnati is seeking a dedicated Banquet Associate to properly set, clean and maintain all function rooms, service corridors, storerooms and public areas, ensuring safety and hospitality standards. You will work closely with guests, Sales, and Food & Beverage teams to deliver outstanding service and a seamless event experience.

The role requires a high school education or equivalent, at least six months experience in hotel or convention center banquet

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Six months hotel or convention center banquet food/beverage services experience.
• Able to read, speak and understand English; able to lift 20-40 lbs; stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Check setup according to BEO specifications and Supervisor instructions.
• Set rooms, buffets, and tables; assist during service with cordial and professional manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and security of storerooms; assist in inventory and equipment maintenance.
• Communicate concerns to Banquet Manager and support servers during service.

Provide excellent customer service and work closely with guests, Sales, and the Food and Beverage departments.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES* Check server’s and house person’s BEOs to ensure that all information is accurate.* Set rooms, buffets, and tables according to BEO specifications and Supervisor instructions. Check electrical hook-ups for proper working order and tape down all exposed cords for equipment in use. Perform all guest contact activities or guest request with a cordial, efficient and professional manner while maintaining a commitment to excellence.* Ensure that all storerooms are clean, organized and secured. Assist in equipment inventory as scheduled. Attend staff set- up and technical training on a regular basis.* Organize Banquet hall to ensure a productive, safe and energy conserving work environment. Ensure proper maintenance (cleaning and repair) of all equipment* Ensure that all unused rooms are set to department’s standards.* Constantly communicate all concerns to Banquet Manager* Assist the servers during service by responding to their requests; notify supervisor immediately of any difficulties.* Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow associates in all departments.* Enforce all safety and sanitation procedures including safety guidelines and OSHA requirements.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Education: High school education or equivalent experience. Experience: Six months hotel or convention center -banquet food/beverage services environment. Experience and knowledge in all facets of banquet operations, convention services setup and a good understanding of AV equipment operations preferred.Skills and Abilities: Able to read, speak and understand English. Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs. Stand continuously for long periods of time.
