Job summary

Valor Hospitality.org seeks a banquet server to properly set, clean and maintain all function rooms, service corridors, storerooms and public function areas. You will provide excellent customer service and collaborate with guests, Sales, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure flawless events.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms per BEOs, checking electrical hookups, and assisting during service with a professional, cordial approach. Safety and sanitation are emphasized throughout daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Six months hotel or convention center banquet food/beverage services experience.
  • Experience and knowledge in all facets of banquet operations, convention services setup and a good understanding of AV equipment operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Check server and house person’s BEOs to ensure all information is accurate.
  • Set rooms, buffets, and tables according to BEO specifications and Supervisor instructions.
  • Check electrical hook-ups for proper working order and tape down exposed cords for equipment in use.
  • Perform all guest contact activities or guest requests cordially, efficiently and professionally.
  • Ensure storerooms are clean, organized and secured.
  • Assist in equipment inventory as scheduled.
  • Attend staff set-up and technical training regularly.
  • Organize Banquet hall to ensure a productive, safe and energy-conserving work environment.
  • Ensure proper maintenance (cleaning and repair) of all equipment.
  • Ensure unused rooms are set to department standards.
  • Communicate concerns to Banquet Manager.
  • Assist servers during service by responding to requests; notify supervisor of difficulties.
  • Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude with supervisors and fellow associates.

POSITION PROFILE

Properly set, clean and maintain all function rooms, service corridors, storerooms and public function areas in a safe, accident-free manner. Provide excellent customer service and work closely with guests, Sales, and the Food and Beverage departments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Ensure that all storerooms are clean, organized and secured.
  • Assist in equipment inventory as scheduled.
  • Attend staff set- up and technical training on a regular basis.
  • Organize Banquet hall to ensure a productive, safe and energy conserving work environment.
  • Ensure proper maintenance (cleaning and repair) of all equipment
  • Ensure that all unused rooms are set to department’s standards.
  • Constantly communicate all concerns to Banquet Manager
  • Assist the servers during service by responding to their requests; notify supervisor immediately of any difficulties.
  • Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow associates in all departments.
  • Enforce all safety and sanitation procedures including safety guidelines and OSHA requirements.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Six months hotel or convention center -banquet food/beverage services environment.
  • Experience and knowledge in all facets of banquet operations, convention services setup and a good understanding of AV equipment operations preferred.
  • Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs.
  • Stand continuously for long periods of time.
  • Lift, pull, push, bend, and move items to support the hotel and outlets.
